When I was a kid, and saw TV re-runs of Get Smart, and some James Bond film, I imagined it was easy to find a soundproof door, or someting like that, so good that someone could fully scream that nobody near would listen.
The true it's disapointing...

If someone it's building a home a or a new room for a studio in home, perhaps should consider modern blocks and the order of put it, to ensure good sound insulation.

Some people are creative, and even when short on money find ways to get a sound insulation. This room for example it's revested with egg's box put together with shoe's glue:

I seem to be in link-posting mode. This is an EPA manual from 1978 that may be interesting. Meant for a non-tech reader, but it discusses sound transmission in some detail while examining ways to isolate and reduce sound in rooms and houses. Good for building a music room, etc. Or a quiet office. Much of this will already be known to many people here, but it goes into detail about how to determine sources of noise leaks, how to frame windows to reduce noise. Sound theory for carpentry, in a sense:
