The K601 might be a little light on the bass - the K391NC has what I perceive to be a fuller bass, and that's the reason I prefer them. They sound every bit as bright and clear as the K601 to me too.

I actually mainly bought these for the noise cancelling, but I reckon I'll be often using them for music as well! The noise cancelling is good enough for my purposes - I know they are not the best though. (and I don't want complete noise cancelling anyway)
