I have LL full version and I have tested PTQ EP too, but I must say neither of those two really have convinced me. I have Nord Stage 2 and Clavia's new sampled EPs are just amazing point of reference to me how EP should sound. If I first play my Nord and then those modeled EPs (LL/PTQ) those latter two sound very artificial and clinical. In general IMO EP is so much easier to sample well than Ac.pno. And when you sample a vintage EP there will probably be small imperfections in tone which make it more alive.

All this been said, new PTQ 5 is great for those ac.pnos! It has really improved in so many areas.

I'd say just the opposite - Pianoteq excels for mellower sounds, but struggles a bit if you want a really aggressive sound. LL can produce extremely aggressive forte sounds if you tweak the settings, without needing to add distortion.

Greg.

Is it me or is the Pianoteq 5 Rhodes aka. Vintage Tines generally more aggresive than LL? I did a comparison of them side by side (LL 4 demo) because I am looking for a softer sound. No matter what I do, parameters or random button, Vintage Tines sounds quite hard. How do I tweak a softer attack in Pianoteq? Or is it just born that way?
