Yesterday I found a article (in portuguese) about vintage pianos, and they mentioned straight strings had some few advanteges in relation to crossed strings, despite the qualities of crossed strings in other terms.
I wondered if pianoteq, and his ability to do some impossible things, could create a crossed string preserving the advantages of straight strings.

It's still like that in Japan, mostly. Even today.

Thank you! I've been enjoying Pianoteq since 2009 and completely forgot about that feature in the Action panel. I appreciate your taking the time to respond.

Is it okay that we all address you as Philippe? I know that in today's world we're more informal but I grew up in a time when calling someone by their first name was only done by having that person's permission.

Again, my thanks to you and all at Modartt. Your mathematics teachers from grade school onward must be very proud of each of you for the achievements made with Pianoteq 5.

Thanks Robert for the kind words!

The S. Erard (1849) has dampers up to B5 (MIDI #83), hence you found the exact place where it has no more dampers.

You can however add some dampers if you wish: in the Action panel, just move the "Last damper" slider to the right up to where you want dampers.

First, a million thanks to the team at Modartt for all the hard work that has made Pianoteq 5 such a joy to play.

I do have a question about the "new" Erard. The notes C6, C#6, and D6 don't have as efficient dampers as all the other notes. Is that because the actual Erard had this issue? Is there a way to make the dampers on just those 3 notes work a bit better? Not really necessary but would like to try.
