I recommend partnering the VPC1 with a micro controller, such as the Alesis Q25. The VPC1 can act as a psuedo MIDI interface, allowing something like the Alesis to be connected via standard MIDI. The MIDI output from both boards can then be conveniently sent via a single USB cable from the VPC1.

Velocity tends to be lower on "piano" style controllers, because they more fully use the range of velocity available. Other than that, apart from having less range, in my opinion an ordinary 61-key controller works great for tracking strings and such.

I know the Kawai MP11 is more expensive but it has a better keyboard plus pitch & mod wheels. I wish the wheels were directly to the left of the keyboard...and after touch would be nice.

Hello,
I'm thinking of buying the VPC-1 and was wondering if anyone has used it to control other orchestral virtual instruments (like Project Sam's Symphobia instruments, East West stuff and Other Orchestral products in Native Instruments Komplete).

1 - Has anyone found any issues with a "only-piano" controller in controlling these sounds?
2 - How did you overcome obvious issues like Mod Wheel to controll expression and other MIDI parameters?
