Did you try it in the expression pedal jack? One user reported that it worked on the "super articulation pedal jack" of a Tyros 2.

If you try this, you may have to remap the expression pedal: perhaps by mapping MIDI CC11 to sustain (in Pianoteq) or by mapping the expression pedal to CC64 (in the Tyros if possible).

I'm considering the VPC-1 myself (as well as the new Kawai MP-11 or Roland RD800)

The pedal panel does show that the Yamaha sustain pedal is acting like a switch.

I need to talk to the guys in the Tyros forum to understand how this pedal functions.  It definitely uses a potentiometer not a switch.

However I now see that Yamaha show their FC-4 (switch type) as a Tyros 5 accessory not the (continuous) FC-3 that I have.

Fortunately the FC-3 is being seen as an ON/OFF  sustain so nothing lost but I'm looking forward so experiencing the VPC-1 continuous sustain from its supplied F-30 pedal assembly.

In Pianoteq, on the panel that shows your note velocity, click on the arrows until you see the "Pedal" panel. This panel will show you the midi value of the pedal as you press on it. If it increases gradually, then the Tyros is sending continuous values, otherwise the Tyros is sending on/off midi messages (0/127).

I looked in the Tyros manual and couldn't find anything about continuous damper control. So even if you are using a continuous damper pedal, the keyboard may accommodate it, but it will behave as a switch pedal.

The Tyros may be able to handle the FC-3 plugged into the expression pedal jack (my Kurzweil handles a Roland RPU-3 in the expression jacks). But continuous damper pedals don't always work in expression pedal jacks on different keyboards.

This footswitch works as it should with the Yamaha but when using the keyboard with Pianoteq Studio 4.5,  the calibration reports "apparently your pedal is a switch....is not a continuous sustain pedal"

I read that this pedal uses a 10K potentiometer and actually is a continuous controller so why does Pianoteq not identify it as such?

Anyone got a comment or fix?
