But on another thread delt recommends Roland DP-10 in response to your own question. So research it, and if it looks sound for most of your purps, save up, meantime living with the wah-pedal.

M-audio and On Stage Gear models identical basically. M- audio is shinier and seems better constructed but is functionally equivelent. The two pedals have polarity switches (somehow this is not critical since i even may enjoy playing inverted polarity, undamped until pedal engaged.)

The novation, as far as i can tell, is not the issue. Though it only has on-off circuitry in its pedal jack, the expression jack is continuous cc style. Heres where the trouble with the m-audio style gear lies. The mechanism is not realtime but somehow lags until the pedal stroke is at extremes. There is a graduated response, but not while transversing the span. Its afterwards that the data is spit out.

Is this desired for you keyboardists?

Please let me know if u visualize this latent response in your correctly functioning dedicated piano controller systems (or piecemeal ones if your like me on a budget. I'm sure this is useful to this community).

(Also, side issue,  these two afforementioned piano style pedals only output from about cc-64 0 through 46, not thru to 127, which is a concern, but there is no gradual real time data so its moot).

The upshot is my two piano style pedals do exhibit a latent narrow burst of cc value change. But it is so near-instantaneous as to abruptly cut off the notes. No diligence or nuance on my part changes the abrupt nature of cutoff and it is identical sounding to an on-off.

It do slightly suck for me.

Whereas with my Yamaha wah style i get real time nice gradual signal, so i get a dampening briefly; notes aren't so abruptly dampened.

Difficulty with the fc7 is simply that the pedal is too frictiony to finesse between full pedal and half pedal.

Ok, so please please PLEASE let me know if yamaha fc3 is giving out real time gradually updating data, cuz a piano style pedal would be better.  Or any other pedal that may work in my 1/4 inch expression jack of my impulse keyboard.
