There was not really a strong reason to enhance the stereo width in the BA presets on the D4. We just found it sounded nice with this enhancement, but of course this may be adjusted at your own taste.

Dunno why Modartt made it like so, but I can tell you that you can do great recordings no matter which preset you use.
