I can confirm 'accelerando'. It's difficult to understand for an italian person also; I had to listen two times
Rondo is excluded because of the accent; it should go on the last vocal: Rondò.
But the domain is still available

Jake, 'solorondo' of course means playing a rondo in solo (with maybe, maybe, a slight acceleration as suggested by Chopin87).

Ah, thank you. Now, listening to it again, I hear what he is saying in the second instance. Strange--I listened to it 7-8 times earlier and always heard "solorondo"...

The musical term is unsurprisingly the italian "accelerando" ( /äkˌseləˈrändō/ roughly pronounced "akselerando"). It refers to a tempo change because it means faster, increasing in speed. In the video he says: "a slight accelerando in the middle of the phrase". Hope that helps.

I ran across this term today in this video--Sondheim uses the term twice, once at about 4:54-5 and again at 5:08-9 :

It appears to be related to phrasing or timing. (Is he contrasting it with rubato?) Does anyone know the meaning?

I'm coming up empty handed after doing searches for musical technique in general and singing technique.
