Pianoteq 4.5 have lower volume, and if you adjust velocity curves instead of volume, you will alter the performance basis.

before, with v4.2.1 the sound was bright even when all other orchestra was playing !
Now, with v4.5, the sound sounds like "damped ? ", under the other, like if some note was near "missing"... (not a license bug, lol checked ok by soloing the tracks. )and it sounds again more like the "wawa" effect style of Pianoteq 3.6 resonance
( not "wawa", more "flanger" ), when the Pianoteq v4.2 sounded clear and spacy.So that
Do you use any plug in reverb at all? I am going to try the plug in program as on the video. May be that will give a better sound. Anyone can recommend a good reverb plug in? Thanks DP

]]>Do you own the YC5 (Yamaha) addon? For my taste pianoteq doesn't sound too soft, but for a piano that should cut through orchestration I'd play with that one and then find out what I like and adjust the ?? you would prefer for your piece. I also use the very old Bechstein (introduced in version 2 of pianoteq if I remember right, but adjusted for v3) and toy with that, and then try to create that "crispyness" of that sound to another modern grand like Bluethner or D4 or whatever you prefer. Just an idea, that's how I try to achieve things .
If you for whatever reason are not satisfied - some use layered sounds (I don't, I am happy with pianoteq). So you could try doubling your piano tracks, creating more layers. One with pianoteq and another with a sampled piano you might own. What I sometimes do is - giving a piano track to 2 different pianoteq-instruments, thus not needing the samples that grow virtual dust on my external hard drive .

I have the Kawai VPC1 and I set to the PT curve. The piano sound seems muffled still even after I play around with all the settings. I think I need to get a processor plug in to get the sound right. I do have quality HS-80/HS-10 speakers so anyone can recommend a good plug in to get the maximum out of the PT? BTW, I bought all the pianos available. Thanks DP
]]>I have the 4.5.1 standard version and I also downloaded all the available pianos. I notice that the piano sounds tends to be "soft" and not clear even through quality headphones. My music is piano with orchestration and I need the piano to cut through the mix. Is there a plug in that renders the piano to be brighter? I have spent many hours adjusting the mic and hammer levels but it still too soft for my taste. Thank you all for your help on this forum. DP
