I've MacBook Pro 2.2 SR (which may be similar model as yours) and using built-in sound card I get 5MS latency and almost 80-100 voices polyphony, no chops.

Using latest 2.2.2 Trial Version.

There must be something wrong with your configuration. Try with built-in sound card.

BTW. Regarding MacBook's USB Front & Rear connector, it is MacBook Pro that's causing problem not MacBook, MBP has 2 USB at left & right, both have same parameters AFAIK.

I read at MacInTouch.com recently that the rear USB port on some MacBooks differs from the front USB port. Audio applications are affected and you should always use the front port for any audio connections. This has relieved some intermittent problems for me.

If you have a "first-generation" macbook, then you have probably encountered the problem described here: http://www.forum-pianoteq.com/viewtopic.php?id=263 . If that is the case , then disabling the wifi will solve it (I hope that Apple will fix that in 10.5.3 though..)

Hi,

Jake is right, there's something wrong with your setup. PTQ runs on my 1.7GHz notebook without problems, with a Firewire interface and 8ms latency.

Your set-up is wrong somewhere. No one on this forum, over the past two years, has had the trouble you describe. Give us some information:

What sound card are you using? With what versions of the drivers and with what latency?

The more you tell us, the better we can get you up and running.
