I ditched them both, and the settings seem to stick now! Hopefully it will continue to work as expected.

Thanks sebion!

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, actually) I'm not seeing any problems anywhere else outside of PT, including the card's control panel.

And I really feel that the 'missing' ASIO sound card is related to the forgotten MIDI settings also. It's like pianoteq isn't able to properly write to it's settings file.

Where is this settings file (that houses interface/midi/etc settings) stored?

Regardless, thanks again for the help custral!

The ASIO Sound Card message I recognise, and though I can't clearly recall the circumstance, know it had some thoroughly dumb, unnecessary cause. On the order of my having kicked loose the power cord to the said device. So yes it couldn't be selected, though my ASIO setting exactly would have done if the device had power. A case of message not quite having the right 'shape'.

ADDED: it's also worth, sometimes, calling up the ASIO device's Control Panel, which sometimes reveals more detail about what is or isn't being properly connected in the reproduction chain; and even sometimes allows pulling the chain into proper line.

Your system too is more elaborate than any I've used, however it may be that before you boot up PTQ all else inside it (the system) must be ready and waiting for PTQ to return *as* it was last set up. Definitely that message is coming from PTQ, and is a complaint about matters elsewhere rather than matters inside PTQ.

Hi, PT newbie here. Love playing it, but am quite frustrated with one issue...

So I go through the process of setting everything up, selecting my ASIO sound card, midi ins/outs, and setting up my sustain pedal workaround by manually adding midi cc info.

I play around, everything works fine. Close PT down, open it back up later to play, and get the message about not having selected an ASIO sound card. Also, all of my custom midi CCs are gone.

It won't save these settings across sessions for some reason.

A few notes:
1. I tried searching for previous posts on this issue to no avail (maybe I'm bad at searching)
2. I use numerous other music software, none but PT has this issue
3. Settings forgotten regardless of whether the PC has been rebooted or not
4. I've tried running 'as administrator' and it didn't help

Win 7 Home 64bit
Core I5
Scarlett 2i2 interface
Akai MPK88 controller/keyboard
Line 6 FBV Shortboard controller

Any help appreciated!
