The Bluthner is truly amazing and a joy to play, downloaded it last night, didn't get to bed till 4:30 and was late for work this morning.

The warm mellow tone combined with the tingling resonance of the aliquot string system in the upper register have been faithfully reproduced.

It's good to know that Bluthner have endorsed PTQ and nice to see the Bluthner logo on the main screen, would love to see Fazioli, Steinway & Bosendorfer up there too.

Thought the D4 would be a hard act to follow but the good stuff just keeps on coming.

This piano has character, and you can even play Mozart on it! Try to play Mozart on say the EastWest Bosendorfer - which has some rich sounds - and you can't do it without a completely  unnecessary and unacceptable amount of work. Totally in agreement here - Pianoteq has matured to the next stage, and if it keeps up the pace, we will be experiencing most of the joy and reward of many (not just one) of the world's best pianos in our homes and studios.

Well, to be honest: I think, a piano modell should be part of the programm, not an Add-On.

Well, another way to think of it is that by making it an add-on users who do not wish to use that piano type do not have to pay for it.   If you include it into the program, then everyone has to pay for it in the price of the program.   Remember, Modartt has to make money somewhere or they stop doing this.

It was one of my red-letter internet days when I discovered there was a transcription. But never did I imagine I might one day sit at the keyboard and replicate the sound as well. Amazing.

Is there a list of the parameters that we don't have access to, but could if they were unlocked? People are always making feature request and I wonder if its already a hidden feature.

Maybe we could have a version called Pianotechies for the ultimate user?

There are indeed many other parameters, but I don't think it would make much sense to include them in the interface: it would just end up with an extraordinary complex UI that would be pratically unsuable.

Philippe, something that people maybe didn't thought much, and I believe it's important step, it's the fact the Bluthner add on be the first pianoteq model recreation of a modern piano authorized by the manufacturer.

Well, how was the process, approache Bluthner pianos and show pianoteq features, request a permition to use a bluthner for reference and use the brand name?
Considering Bluthner have also their own digital pianos, I presume they got impressed with pianoteq to allow use their name.

May I presume this is just the first of many authorized brands add on for pianoteq?

Beto-Music, yes, we made big efforts for capturing the originality of the sound of the Blüthner, and we were indeed very proud that Blüthner gave us permission to modelize their grand Model One and authorized us to publish the Blüthner add-on. BTW, I have visited their manufactory and was really impressed by the very high quality of their manufacturing.

There is indeed a 'basic' preset on which we did very few tweakings with interface accessible parameters: the preset called 'D4 Classical BA'. For the Blüthner, it is the one called 'Bluethner Model One BA'.

These are also the presets we recommend to use as starting point when creating new presets, unless of course some other preset is already closer to the target sound.

The Blüthner model was started from scratch, using as reference a Blüthner Model One recorded in the FWL Studios Leipzig. Because there are a lot of parameters that are not accessible via the interface (which provides a sort of general control tool for these parameters), it is not possible to obtain the Blüthner model by starting from the D4 model and changing parameters in the user interface - although it is possible to reduce the “distance” between the two models with appropriate settings.

And, of course, that makes sense and gives birth to another thought, in my mind anyway.

The Blüthner model was started from scratch, using as reference a Blüthner Model One recorded in the FWL Studios Leipzig. Because there are a lot of parameters that are not accessible via the interface (which provides a sort of general control tool for these parameters), it is not possible to obtain the Blüthner model by starting from the D4 model and changing parameters in the user interface - although it is possible to reduce the “distance” between the two models with appropriate settings.

Beautiful model!  The D4 is my "warm" piano and the Bluthner will be my "sparkling" piano. I don't think I could achieve that sound by EQing the D4! Very articulate without being too edgy.  -Perry-

But you know... there are people that when heard the name pianoteq get angry, remambering the older versions, V1  V2, or some few piano notes of V3...

I have a idea...   What about change the name ???  Or maybe add a second name to pianoteq...
What about pianoteq phoenix or pianoteq Grand ?  Or something that reinforces a" reborn", reborn to a new natural sound of piano.

A idea for a year or two from now, when more refined models like Bluthner arrive.
