1. where to where to place virtual microphones  around the piano (are there, in general well-known, guidelines?)
2. where to place speakers in a room? .. height?, distance?, angle?, etc. (are there general guidelines?) ... I know trial and error could be considered a guideline ...

my wish list re: microphones ..

1. a "snap-to" grid w/degrees of scale (magnified and more detailed view for mike placement)
3. tone (and other controls) for each microphone
4. option to completely remove the lid

I know a lot of this is just trial and error (and eventual success!), so maybe another way to rephrase the question is "lessons learned about trial, error, & success ..."

For the (!*_magnificent_*!) developers (thanks very much for the amazing amount of options in Pianoteq!), I'm wondering if more control over each microphone is upcoming. For example:
