The shadow (around the borders of the pianoteq window) is left visible when the pianoteq windows is hidden by other means than minimisation, on windows >= vista. This issue will be fixed in the next update (which will happen next week)

Would you have been using the same physical machine, while running XP and 7? I've never run PTQ with XP, but I have run it under Vista and 7 (a different laptop but same maker each time), and I simply don't recognise your term 'shadow'. Whenever I have hit the Minimise button, minimisation to Taskbar has always taken place and left no mark on Desktop.

Thus, is it the same machine of yours, and same BIOS?

I use Pianoteq on a general purpose Windows desktop PC also used for email and other daily admin.

In the past I have minimised Pianoteq to the notification area just to keep it out of the way of all my other running applications. There are a number of third party apps (Tray It, Send to Tray, RBTray) that will do this.

If minimised directly from the desktop, Pianoteq leaves a shadow on the wallpaper. With XP I was able to minimise Pianoteq to the notification area from the taskbar to avoid this. With Windows 7, Jumplists have superceded the old right click context menu, and I can no longer send Pianoteq to the notification area from the taskbar.

I realise that all this is pretty minor stuff, but nevertheless..

i) What is the technical reason for Pianoteq behaving differently from other Windows apps when minimised like this (by leaving a shadow, I mean)? Anyone know?

ii) I would have thought that others would also like to minimise Pianoteq out of the way to the notification area - could this be considered a feature request if others support this?

Apologies if I've missed something obvious - do let me know if so!
