Yes, it was necessary, because the sound between the versions is not the same, also to keep compatibility with previous projects because of that.

It's not like you're dealing with gigabytes of data, anyways, so it's no big deal really.

isn't that necessary if you want to use pianoteq 3 and 4 on the same computer as a vst?

Hello,

I'm a bit amazed that the vst ID has changed in pianoteq 4. Was this really nessecery? If I upgrade, I always remove the previous version just to avoid too much clutter but this caught my by surprise actually; As this didn't happen before as I recall.
