Thank you Julien and the entire Pianoteq team! It now works everything fine. Now I play chopin's etude no 1 from op. 10 without weird pedal noise Its so much fun to play on chopin's favorises brand Pleyel!

Thanks, there was indeed an old issue with the pedal noise on the kivir instruments, we have updated them, so you can download the new kivir it should fix this issue.

I've sent Niclas a midi file that showed off the issue for the modern instruments. There I move only the pedal, first very slowly and then every time I depress the pedal I do it a little faster. I think that one should do the job!

EDIT: Just to clarify the problem: I don't hear any pedal depress noise untill I depress the pedal quite fast, but at this point the pedal noise is generated at its full volume. The is no volume graduation of the pedal noise when I play the Pleyel for example. The pedal release noise shows the same behaviour, so that I hear the pedal off noise without hearing the pedal on noise before, which sounds very strange. This is why it got my attention in the first place.
Do I have to download an update of the historical instruments as well, or is this issue just in the main software?

I'm not sure that I hear anything strange, can you record a very short midi sequence using only the pedal that shows the issue and send it to me at support@pianoteq.com ?

I just wanted to inform you, that the damper noise problem is solved for the modern pianos in pianoteq. If I play one of the historical instruments, like the pleyel I still get weird damper noise issues!

We have issued an update to v4.1.0 addressing this issue. You can download it again , it should now display '4.1.0/20120823' as the version number, and behave as it did before v4.1 with respect to pedal noises.

I''ve already sent the support team a message about this. I'm using my DIY continuous pedal, and I get very irregular pedal noises, too. I have sent them a midi file to check it and they said it will hopefully be resolved with the next update. I hope your problem is the same and will be solved, too.
To check it you can go back to an older pianoteq version. I think the bug was introduced in v.4.1.0. Any older version should do the trick!

I use Pianoteq 4 on a new MacBook, controlled by a Korg SV-1 (73) through a MOTU 828 mkII firewire interface. Pianoteq's damper pedal noise is intermittent with this setup, happening about 7 times out of every 10 pedal presses. This happens with the Korg DS-2H pedal that came with the SV-1, and it also happens with a Roland DP pedal. I don't know the model number of the Roland pedal, but I have it set to switch (not continuous), so every pedal depression should be the same. I had to adjust the SV-1's pedal polarity to make the two different pedals work, and the best result I get from either one is damper noise from Pianoteq only about 7/10 times.

I get damper noise every single time in the SV-1 itself with either pedal, so I don't think the keyboard or the pedals are at fault. I'd greatly appreciate any help that can be provided. Thanks!
