Thanks, appreciate the help. EQ settings helped a little, but still not very good. I guess I'm going to be in the market for new speakers.

Did some research and it seems that the Alesis M1Active 320 is a decent pair for the price. I'm a little hesistant to buy a pair of studio monitors as they are kind of specialized. Ideally I'd like to find speakers that have a more generalized purpose. Then again, I have a feeling that trying to find generalized purpose speakers that sound good with pianoteq may get expensive.

It's your speakers. I don't think there is any audio line in on the Arius, so you probably can't use he onboard speakers. Try the Equalizer settings in Pianoteq. You might run through the different presets and look at the different EQ settings to see how it affects the sound. Best bet, better speakers.

Newbie Improving Audio help

Hi all. I'm rather new to pianoteq, but I recently hooked it up to my Yamaha ypd-161 and using headphones it sounded amazing. I tried one step further and tried to use my computer speakers (logitech z313) and anything in the mid to high range sounds a little distorted (almost like an interference pattern). So far from what I've read the problem could be related to my laptop sound card (conexant smart audio hd) or the speakers are too low in quality.

I'm guessing it's not a sound card issue as the headphones sound great. But if it is the speakers, does anyone know of a way to use my internal keyboard speakers (they sound pretty decent to me). Otherwise any reccomendations to improve the sound would be greatly appreciated.
