Sandrole: Reading your post again I noticed that you wrote "decrease" not increase. Im not sure If I understood your correctly the first time.

When setting the velocity for 0 to a higher value the overall dynamics of pianoteq gets narrower right? Instead of using 0-127 youre now using say 17-127 or any number that suits your taste. Afther raising the velocity value I usually tend to feel that the piano gets to narrow dynamic-wise, so to counteract I set the "dynamics" value high to say 75-85 depending on piano modell and style of music and soforth. Thus I decrease the key sensitivity for the most gentle keystrokes but I also expand the dynamics uppwards.

I think I got I right?

Indeed, usually the midi controller/masterkeyboard is more sensitive then an ordinary piano. And like already pointed out, a real piano key can be pushed down gently without making a hammer hit a string. Using my roland fp5 electric piano as a midi controller for pianoteq, ive set this value quite high for the K1, at 17.0.

That's how real pianos behave. So if you want Pianoteq to respond like a real piano, that's pretty important. Plus it's useful as a sostenuto effect without the sostenuto pedal.

Anyway, just move the bottom left dot on the velocity curve a few points to the right along the x-axis. I have mine at (6,0).

You can take the velocity curve... take a look... it's like a declie line in general...

If you choose a point, looking the velocity key vector, and in this point create a 90 degree complete drop for the velocity you wish no sound reaction, I supose you will get a silent value.

But it will be dificult to draw a very short declive... Probably you will get a couple of midi values, 3 or 4 (sucessive), that have silent response.

Hello,
I am a new pianoteq user, and I enjoy it.
I was previously using IVORY 2 (which also also great), and I would like to find out how to simulate with pianoteq an interesting feature that IVORY has : the "silent key value"
This value allows you to define a "Midi" value under which no sound is performed
With Pianoteq, I have seen that if you press really gently a key, it is detected, but no sound is performed
Ok, but I would like to "decrease" this threshold => I would like the keyboard to be more "sensitive"

I have already played with the velocity curve, But that does not seem to affect this "silent key value" that Pianoteq has.

Any information about that ?
