Cymbals -that's what we need modelled. There's a lot of percussion out there -a lot of synth percussion that sounds great and Pianoteq could make a great percussion synth, but it's cymbals and the other highly variable, ringing, sustaining metallic, glass, and what-have-you bang-upons that are really missing in the modelled, synth world.

yes, the price went to incredible highs since the instrument is no more produced... or nearly. There are copies however ;-)

Hi all,

what is funny, it is that i was looking everywhere to find that instruments, but price is (ooouuullalala!!!) too much money...(around 6000$)

between "Cimbalom"(i really love) and future "Space Drums"(hum! i have a very good feeling), we must recognize that Modart do very very good and original work...
it is christmas very often with Pianoteq

I actually bought an album with a rather unknown band called Memory Tapes for some time ago.
Their music is a interesting blend of many things with many electronic sounds, (that i like)
But between all the electronic stuff there was this really great sounding instrument on many songs i could not recognize as being generated on the computer or any synth, because it sounded too organic, and guess what... it's a Hang Drum.
I tried to copy the sound on one of my synthesizers with out much luck.
So now i just can't wait to see what Pianoteq will come up with

I think that if Pianoteq has found the holy grail of drum modeling i'm really looking forward to see what they have come up with.
I havent heard any modeled drums yet sounding real, but that may Space Drums allso not do :-)
