M-Audio has crappy drivers, that's an unfortunate truth. Either live with it, or get a better soundcard that's not M-Audio would be my suggestion...

As expected, the update hasn't fixed the problem with my M-Audio Fast Track Ultra. I did the following:

- ensured that the default playback and recording device in Windows was set to the internal audio interface, so that Windows would not be using the FTU.

- opened Pianoteq (4.04), and configured it to use the FTU.
- played a few notes
- manually closed down Pianoteq.
- Put Windows to "sleep".
- Resumed Windows - Windows crashed during resume. ;^)

Can you fix the M-Audio driver?

Thanks Julien. Note that I am not very optimistic that it will also fix the problem with my M-Audio, because I'm pretty sure my system crashes if I suspend & resume with the audio interface plugged in and turned on, even if I'm not running any ASIO applications at the time. I'll re-test and report back. I will make sure I test the case where the default Windows audio interface is not the M-Audio interface. I.e - I will set the default interface to be the internal audio interface.

The just-released version 4.0.4 tries to release the soundcard when Windows is being put to sleep -- hopefully, that should solve the issues when the soundcard driver does not play nice with the OS suspend/hibernate.

I have that problem too, and I have the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra. I have the same problem with other audio applications - it is not Pianoteq. M-Audio have confirmed that standby/hibernate is not supported with this interface. The workaround is to turn the audio interface off before going into standby, and turn it on again after resuming. (I also need to re-connect it to Pianoteq). It's a shame.

I'm using the Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium, and just downloaded the newest driver. Well, I don't care much about that standby thing^^, just wanted to mention my PC's behaviour for information.

This is probably a driver issue. For example here, on my echo audiofire soundcard , I can suspend or hibernate windows while pianoteq is running, and it still works when the computer resumes.

Which soundcard card are you both running ? Is the driver up-to-date ?

I've got the same problem: Pianoteq doesn't work after a Standby in Win7. But when I restart Pianoteq then, it's OK again. I don't have to reboot my machine.

Hello!

I am new here.
I am reading you for a long time.
I wanted to register for the forum but my usual pseudo (burns300) was always refused.
My pseudo is therefore: burns3oo!
But it is not my problem..

I'm using Pianoteq for 3 months.
I am happy with it.
But ...

There is a problem.
With the following versions: Pianoteq Play 3.6.8, Pianoteq Stage 4.0.3 and Pianoteq standard 4.03,
it is unpossible to set Win7 on standby.
When it wakes from sleep, Pianoteq is blocked.
The unique operation I can do is to reboot (with difficulties) Win7.
What to do (unless close Pianoteq before standby)?
