I have no idea. But as an experiment I ran pianoteq on my machine now and limited it to run on a single CPU core. CPU is an i860. Tried to see how high I could get the utilization. Never higher then 40% on one core which translates to 5% of total CPU usage. Running ASIO driver at 4ms or 192 samples, no audio glitches either.

So if you can work-out how much slower your CPU is then mine and then multiply my max usage by that you should get an idea.

Hey Modartt, you are using only 5% or less of my CPU. That gives you another 95% do extra modelling!!!

:-)

Well, my 4+ years old Intel Core2Duo E4400 (2 GHz) runs Pianoteq 4 at 48 KHz with full polyphony (256 notes) and CPU running both cores somewhere around 45-55%...

So if you reduce polyphony and sample rate, you might be able to use it.

Hello,

I am buying a high-end notebook (dual core AMD 1.65 GHZ processor, 4 MB memory, 500 gb disk...).

I was wondering if PianoTeq version 4 would be too CPU intensive for this netbook. I am not buying this for PianoTeq, but for work. It would be nice if PianoTeq v4 would work acceptably on it also.

Many thanks in advance.
