i find the tuning on the second one disturbing, although they both sound a bit clangy.

apart from that i dont prefer either.

I prefer the first as stand alone it would be the second with the added bass the first sits better with the strings . So to me its the First

I'm doing a little experiment over in the Harmony Central Keyboard forum. I'd like some broad participation and would quite appreciate it if some of the folks here participated. The results will, I think, be of real use to Pianoteq users.
