I've had the Pianoteq 7 Stage for 2 days and at least 3 times, either a note or an entire chord would go silent.

Funny thing,  it did not happen with the demo version I've used for weeks.

I use a  Roland A-90 (old Master board) , MIDI cable Roland UM-ONE-MK2  an Intel PC i7 4.7Ghz, 64GB RAM Thunderbolt to Universal Audio Arrow,

WIN 10 Pro,  CUBASE 11

Nerver had any issue with NI or whatever and there has been a lot of whatever.

So if you are a Yamaha keyboard owner, you should buy a Yamaha cable. The CD they provide is obsolete, but you can download drivers online and everything installs properly. You need to plug in the cable before installation, contrary to what the flyer in the box says.

I borrowed PreSonus Audibox USB and everything works as expected. So it really is either faulty or incompatible cable.

So far I have not resolved it. I was saving recordings to a USB drive then reading the MIDI files in PianoTeq.

I was planning buying another cable from another brand, maybe a Yamaha one, since I read that some people said only the Yamaha MIDI cables would work properly.

I apologize I cannot be of more help right now...

Just a hint

No, the piano does produce a sound when notes are missing in Pianoteq.

I didn't look at the LED on the UM-1, but in Pianoteq, the notes were missing from the midi data. I set polyphony to 128 notes, but I don't think it is the issue. The missing notes occur randomly and don't seem related to the pedal, which I thought at first.

I am going to order a Yamaha Midi-USB cable and see if that fixes it. Who knows if Yamaha keyboards only work with Yamaha cables? Urg...

Yes, I know, not much info yet...

I will keep gathering more info. It seems related to the sustain pedal and chords. The digital piano is brand new and I have never had any problems recording on on-board memory or flash drive.

It's difficult to help you with this without more information, but as with any technical problem, the process of elimination usually will find it for you.

1 If your digital piano is also not producing sound then the piano itself is probably the culprit.
2 If you keep your eyes on the UM-1 and see it blinking when you play a chord but there's no sound from Pianoteq, then it's in your computer.

3 In Pianoteq, if you open 'options' there's a tab that will show you midi data being transmitted. If you see midi data but hear no sound from Pianoteq, and your midi channel is correct, then I'd check the polyphony setting (if it's too low, you may be getting dropped notes).

If your computer is not set to take advantage of full processor power it may be dragging too. If all else fails you can try reinstalling Pianoteq although it's highly unlikely that Pianoteq itself is at fault.

XPS M1710 laptop (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz)
ASIO4All drivers
Roland UM-ONE USB to MIDI cable
YDP 181 Digital Piano

During testing I sometimes noticed an entire chord went silent. I have a hard time pinpointing what caused it.

Is this something other users have noticed, if not, what can I do to help solve this problem? It could be any of the digital piano, the USB to MIDI cable, or the software...
