This may seem a strange question, but is there electrical gear i.e. mains cables, electrical hardware i.e your laptop/soundcard etc anywhere near your keyboard. Many keyboards aren't magnetically sheilded. Mine isn't. Ask me how I know!!! Yes, I put my laptop on top (where the manufacturer suggests I put it!!!) and notes started to miss and all sorts of strange behaviour of the keyboard resulted.

My suggestion to begin with is to remove any electrical/electronic equipment including mains cables away from close proximity to your Yamaha ps-220.

Obviously, you need to plug your keyboard to the mains and midi USB cable from ps-220 to computer. It's more things like mains cables and electronic units (laptops, mixers, soundcards, etc. that cause this problem.

Not really. I updated my midi cables driver software with the latest version and it seemed to work fine for a session but the problem came back next time i turned everything on.

I can see that the note off event message is not being recieved by pianoteq (for those keys that stick) but it's really random.

I would have thought that missing data would perhaps happen when playing really fast but again even that's random. Playing really slowly also has the same issue.

i had few time ago exactly the same trouble,(take a look on link up)
the trouble was not my k2500 but midi connexion and maybe the external sound card 'Alésis io2.
i play now with a studiologic 188+, no midi connexion, but usb cable...and i never have trouble again...
you must try and or test everything: it can be your midi connexion, but it may be your keyboard too...

  I've downloaded the demo version and think it's brilliant. Lovely sound.

  However, at random times some of the keys stick (on the virtual keyboard).
  I'll be playing somthing and when i release the key on my keyboard the key on the virtual keyboard stays down until i hit that key again.

  It's no particular key and it's all very random. I've tried two different laptops both of which have sufficient spec. I'm using a roland um-1 midi-usb cable and the keyboard is a yamaha ps-220 (old but works really well)

  Like i say, when it works it's brilliant but i can't play for more than 20secs without a darn key sticking!

  Anyone have any ideas please?
