Now come on - the RMI Electrapiano is all very nice,
but it can bloody well get in the queue behind the Hohner Pianet N!

There are far more Roxy Music, Stranglers and Van der Graaf Generator songs I need to play before I start doing those Tony Banks tricks!

You're not obliged to install 42 GB of samples that come with Kontakt, you know I don't have them installed, and just have the libraries I use. Using a separate hard drive for sample libraries is the best thing you can do. I have a 1 TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 which is really a fast drive and good for streaming.

Moreover, whether we admit it or not, Kontakt is industry standard sampler, and it's one of those virtual instruments you SHOULD definitely have in your arsenal.

There's no interaction between notes in an RMI as on Rhodes or Wurly or a real piano, so I see no actual point in modeling it - . It would also require some UI changes, because of the tabs etc. It kinda doesn't fit into Pianoteq's paradigm - except for the "I have keys too!" part.

It is actually the Hollow Sun sample library that led me to this post
I never thought about what instrument did these great arpeggio chords in Carpet Crawlers by Genesis. But it is a nice mellow sound that is used in many old Gensis songs.

I have Pianoteq but i don't have Kontakt, and i'm not fond of all these samples i have to squeeze onto my harddisk so why not let Pianoteq do it.
In a piano plugin there should allso be a RMI piano, i think

I'm thinking it would be an easy task to model the RMI piano, and add it as a nice summer gift... he-he

Oh, you thought I meant the RMI sounded like a Wurly, then? No wonder!!

It's interesting that the Hohner sounds more like a Wurly than a Rhodes, despite the fact that it has a design that is probably closer to a Rhodes. (electro-magnetic pickups, cf electro-static for the Wurly)

I would also like the ability to have the Pteq Yamaha CP80 have a mono phaser routed through a stereo chorus for that other classic Banks sound.

Funny that you mention it, I'm doing scripting for Hollow Sun's RMI Electrapiano sample library. It's sounding really good! Since RMI didn't have velocity sensitivity, that makes it a lot easier to actually reproduce with samples - it's just a raw waveform with almost linear envelope decay.
