I've found a solution. Pianoteq does respond to the Cubase mixer if its in an instrument track. If its controlled via a midi track, it ignores the cubase mixer.
Which is strange, because all other VSTs respect the mixer settings.

But no problem - I prefer instrument tracks nowadays anyway. ;-)

Richard

Hello Richard,

Welcome to this forum; you will find there are many friendly, knowledgeable members here.

Regarding your volume problem with Cubase:
Although I do not use Cubase, Pianoteq responds to Continuous Controller #7. This can be confirmed by clicking on the 'Options' tab on the front panel, and confirming that CC#7 controls volume.

The next thing you need to check is whether you are sending CC#7 messages to Pianoteq via midi in Cubase.

Hope this helps,

Joe jcfelice88keys

Hi,

I use the Pianotex 3.6.6. 64bit plugin in Cubase 6 (64bit Win7) and I seem not to be able to get it to respect the Cubase mixer settings. I.e. the volume is always the same no matter what I do in cubase. Other VSTs work well (or at least they react to volume settings), only way how to adjust volume levels is if I open up the frontend of pianoteq itself and change volume settings there.

Which - as you can imagine - is quite a bummer in production workflow.

Anything I've overlooked? That should be pretty simple and intuitive functionality.

Richard
