I did not touch the tuning although the thought had crossed my mind and I know a pianist who plays arab music and tunes his acoustic piano to 1/4 tones.
I guess if we were the first ones to ever try mixing the well tempered (and so western by nature) piano with oriental instruments I'd probably be too afraid to do it. But since it's very common now to see these fusions I feel it's possible and I prefer to leave the piano as is and try to support the oud's nature in the best way I can, maintaining the original sound and playing of each instrument. In other words, I'd like to think that we're making a ture fusion of east and west rather than forcing the piano to convert...
But then again, maybe I'll give it a try some day...

very nice mood in this one again as in the earlier one....
and although the melody is oriental sort of, at times the pieces you play on piano make me think of Dave Grusin, the sound also....
Anyway - I really enjoyed it.. did you yourselves enjoy it too? You all looked so bloody serious at the end... :-)

Thanks for posting the new video. Great sound. Can you talk a little about the tuning? Did you make adjusments in PianoTeq? Did the oud player have to retune? (I don't know if there is a standard tuning for the oud.)

It's always interesting to hear different cultures music styles, specially in video recored together, almost like live recording.

This turkish guitar, sorry I do not know the exactly name, sounds like unic. And pianoteq gave a kind of "bridge effect" almost like "connecting oriental and occidental sounds".
