Unfortunately I believe that the overall quality of piano craftsmanship peaked at somewhere, lets say, first half of 20-th century. It's going downhill now. Will be happy to be wrong.

What would you say about Fazioli pianos? they keep improving quality

Essentially what current pianos lack is the special slow grown wood of the first half of the second century which is a dominant part of the piano sound. All other things can be manufactured the same or even better quality than it was. As the frame usually does not contribute to the sound, as long as its solid, a Acrylic Piano may sound the same as one with a wooden or concrete outer frame. Would be interesting if the mathematic model of Pianoteqs pianos do have internal parameters to reflect the soundboard character with wood age and kind from the different times it could/should be taken from.

I was thinking about the acrylic grand pianos (case of acrylic).

Does it differ or alter much from conventional grand pianos, in terms of sound?

Acrylic case miniature, but give a idea of a acrylic case alone:

Is that just a decoration, vanity purpose, or have it a particular sound?

Is that possible to adjust pianoteq simulate the resosnance of the acrylic case?
