Thanks Glenn,
I actually downloaded one of your presets from the files section and checked out the mic placement. It was helpful.
-Phil

I'm definitely not familiar with live applications in a large room but:

I find the presets with five microphones don't have the sound that one hears at a keyboard (too much room ambiance). Consequently, I use a preset that utilizes only three mics.

My mic placement is a bit unorthodox - Mic 1 is below the piano, Mic 2 is above the piano at the same horizontal location, and Mic 3 is up and away from the piano.

Try using two mics - one above and one below.

I'll post the fxp that I use - it's based on the K1, but the settings can be used for any of the pianos.

Oh, yes make sure to turn the Limiter and Reverb OFF.

Glenn

Hi,
Purchased Pianoteq today. My main application will be for live use, through powered EV speakers. I did my first round of tweaking today, having played with most of the parameters earlier in the trial version. I am looking "up front" and "articulate" - do not like the sound of ambience being amplified and sent out into a room.
Are there any presets in the download area that people feel are very successful for live use - either stereo or mono (I need both) - fairly bright without being artificially strident that work well in a band setting? Would love to download those and either reverse engineer or use them as a starting point.
I seem to like the K1 the best, but sadly - on my Receptor I am currently only able to run 3.05. I do have 3.63 on my laptop. I had more success playing with the M model than the C model, but am open minded.
       Thanks!!!!

-Phil
