In the latter case special roland-drivers have to be installed. Maybe this might give you a direction where to look for.

Seems like you cannot use G8 for USB MIDI control, only for data transfer? Ridiculous.

If that's the case, you'll need to revert to good old MIDI cables...

Any thoughts would be appreciated greatly!
