But even with your new preset I hear it quite well. (you know, when you ones start to hear an extra tone that shouldn't be there, you can't stop hearing it until it's gone...). Now I tried listening with my Yamaha HS 50M and I hear it there too...

But I really like this piano...

No it's not just the "one-note". And Gilles, Yes it changes to a more pipe-organ sound with long strings... I have listened in earphones (beyerdynamic DT 250) and I think its more in the left ear but even present in the right.. But I'm not sure..

I can't hear it in C3...

I think it is bell-like inharmonic sounds excited by these very low octaves and fifths. It seems to be reduced when increasing String length a lot.

EDIT: In fact the bell tone is still there but it changes character, moving from a hammond-like sound to more of a pipe-organ pedal sound. Intriguing, I didn't notice this before on this version of K1.

I don't think it is just 'the one note'. As far as I can tell, it could be some blend and/or build-up of various resonances and reflections, a phenomenon which does indeed sound very organ-like in this particular example. Am I wrong or is it slightly more present in the right than in the left speaker? That's how I hear it here anyway.
To me it sounds as if some electric organ - mixed in the background (to the right) and with plenty of reverb added - is doubling rather a lot of what the piano is playing.

I've downloaded the midi-file, Andreas, and I'll have a look at it this evening. Maybe there is a way to diminish this effect or even eliminate it altogether.

_
