Ok, if that works then it seems a good solution, it's even airmail free to my country. I am just concerned that the 'midi expression' only works with expression pedals or on off switches, the video doesn't show half pedals, which seem to be different than expression pedals, but I might be wrong.

Audiofront is not just an usb hub. I use it to connect my triple continuous pedal directly to pianoteq because my master keyboard doesn't accept it. I thought it was your problem...

Maybe next time if modartt takes more care to guide the user to set this nerdy stuff up, even in general terms, but step by step, I'll consider buying its product. For now I'll move on, this stuff can cost hours and life is short.

Do you mean "continuous pedal" (sending intermediate MIDI values between 0 and 127, not just on/off) or "soft pedal" (una corda, for softening the sound)?

You can have a look at the MIDI messages received by Pianoteq under Options > MIDI. Check to see if your pedal + keyboard combination actually sends continuous control or just on/off (0 or 127).

Yeah I meant half pedal, sorry. Ok continuous. As I wrote before pianoteq tells me it's just on/off, and it's not. It's connected to my master keyboard. So I am trying to understand if pianoteq reads it wrong because the pedal is 'before' my keyboard, and what do I have to do to use the half pedal. Other sampling libraries I have tell me the same thing, it's on/off, so I assume it's because it's connected to my keyboard and this doesn't support half pedal, for the half pedal function.

So I wonder if there's a simple interface that I can connect my pedal to, and go through USB on my mac and bypass the keyboard entirely in regard to half pedal, and then set up that interface in pianoteq.

Quite frankly I am disappointed at how pianoteq just seems to say: it doesn't work, end of story. Anyways, I am willing to give this a shot, if it's too involved I'll probably leave it as I practice and record a lot, don't have much time to fiddle with complicated setups
