Modartt instrument page related to the Steinway D mentions clearly that the piano size is 274 cm . The longuest strings are actually 229 cm , so 270 is strange and not homogenous with other pianos . </p><p>But the thing that left me the&nbsp; most perplex is that this parameter is meant to control inharmonicity which is essentially related to string length not piano size .</p><p>Moreover this parameter only makes sense when adjusted note by note . So the adjustment with a single value is probably just a proxy value not an absolute value derived from a physical characteristic. In all cases I have noticed that you get a better sound if you shorten the value , but we are entering a subjective space with personal preferences.&nbsp; <br />If would be great if Modartt clarifies this&nbsp; as the documentation relates specifically to string length impact&nbsp; and it is probably one of the fundamental parameters which is pivotal for the string vibrations.</p>]]></content>
