To the left of each entry in the MIDI Mappings menu there is a little button labeled "G" (for "Global"), which you can switch to "P" (for "Preset-specific"). The tooltip indicates:
"G" means that this entry is part of the currently loaded 'global MIDI Mapping', and applies to all instrument presets. "P" means that this entry is part of the current instrument preset, will be saved in its FXP file, and won't apply to other presets.
For your application, I would suggest making the Modwheel assignment Preset-specific using this little button. Make sure that you save your preset afterwards.
]]>I'm creating several presets for a live project, and want to assign the modulation wheel, aftertouch and parameter knob (playing Pianoteq 9 with a Nordstage) to different parameters, that are not the same with each preset.
For example assigning the mod wheel to the rate of the tremolo effect for a Rhodes, the knob for the Drive in the Amp effect, and for a Wurlitzer preset assigning wheel to he chorus depth, knob to flanger, for another preset wheel for the Delay mix, etc...
But I see assigning something to the wheel, knob etc. stay for each other presets.
I know there is the possibility to create different midi global mappings, with different actions for mod wheel knob aftertouch etc.
This is not practical for live use, I'd like to just have to go to the next preset and not going to Options, then Midi, the selecting a new midi global mapping
I've not yet tried this, but the online manual says that it's possible:
If you want Pianoteq to always load your saved MIDI mapping preset when you load a specific instrument preset, click on Attach to current preset, close the MIDI mapping window and save your instrument preset by clicking the floppy disk icon.
