The new Studiologic SL88 MK2 keyboards support MIDI 2.0 (16-bit resolution), which is not directly usable by Pianoteq but can be converted to the MIDI1.0 CC#88 format through software conversion. This is also a MIDI 2.0 support issue for many DAWs and applications, so this on-the-fly MIDI 2.0 / MIDI 1.0 CC#88 conversion could be very practical for Pianoteq.

Furthermore, applications that only use MIDI 1.0 7-bit (such as VSL Synchron Pianos) can benefit from higher MIDI 2.0 resolution if you want to customize a MIDI velocity curve without losing the 7-bit resolution.

On Linux, the MIDI 2.0 / MIDI 1.0 conversion would be easier to implement.

It would be interesting to know the actual resolution of the SL88 MK2. Even though the standard calls for 16-bit, the actual resolution is likely 10/12 bits (depending on the diode matrix scan rate).

I'm considering purchasing an SL88 GT MK2 to check the actual resolution, but perhaps someone has already done so? (In fact, Studiologic doesn't document the actual MIDI 2.0 resolution.)
