Not sure if the OP has already pulled the trigger or not. I am a happy user of Pianoteq so when I found the need to produce a pipe organ sound, of course I tried Organteq. I quickly found out it took way, way more computer horsepower than Pianoteq does. On stage I use a Raspberry Pi 5 to run Pianoteq and the little PC has no trouble with it. Even some of my desktop PC's can't run Organteq. Sad. I had to use GrandOrgue instead.

1) yes

2) check the LOCAL user market (e.g. craigslist). If you are patient you will find something. If you are the DIY type you could maybe even taking a full broken organ (which sometimes are given away for free) take the pedalboard and make it into a MIDI thing with one of the many open source projects that you can find online.

3) I find USB-MIDI the perfect way, since you can connect multiple USB devices (you might need a hub, but that opens a can of worms which I prefer to leave to the next commentator :-) )

Hi all,

I assume the Black Friday discount is coming so I'm ready to purchase Pianoteq 2 but I love classical organ music too (mostly J.S. Bach and Johann Pachelbel's works) so I'm thinking about buying Organteq 2 too. I'm an intermediate piano player and haven't learned organ playing at all, but I used to own an old Yamaha Electone so know some basic playing on the foot pedals.

What I have right now is a normal digital piano with both USB-MIDI output and traditional MIDI IN/OUT ports. My PC is an Intel i7 14700K + 96GB RAM machine with Windows 11 Pro system, which I guess is pretty powerful to handle the software.

Stupid questions if you don't mind:

(1) I'm 99% sure that Pianoteq 2 will work with my setup, but will Organteq 2 work as well, even if I don't have a MIDI pedalboard now?

(2) If I would like to buy a MIDI pedalboard with at least 2 octaves for learning and playing classical church organ pieces, what would you recommend? I did some research and found that these products are quite expensive, and it seems like there are different designs too and not all of them are suitable for toe/heel techniques used in classical pieces.

(3) How should I connect the MIDI pedalboard to my digital piano and the PC when using Organteq 2?

Any input is appreciated.
