Hi everyone,

I could need some help here regarding that question of user presets. After installing V9 it looks like this:

- User presets are not present at all, even though they're all inside the stated fxp preset folder ([USER]\AppData\Roaming\Modartt\Pianoteq)
- The number of Steinway D presets decreased agains V8
- Interestingly enough: in still installed V8 the user presets are not visible also.

Any idea?

If you upgrade to version 9 on a machine which has already installed an iteration of version 8 or even any earlier, like version 7 for an example, you whether on your desktop or inside your DAW should be able to switch among any of these versions either separately or simultaneously.

Updates —not upgrades— replace, completely, existing software versions. Some or all of those are primarily identifiable by the first numeric value appearing in any of the current software titles. (One such is Pianoteq 9.0.1). Only when that first integer —9 as shown by this example— is identical to the first appearing within the title of an installer, you've then an update to your current software. And, only that replaces it!

Now do any of you guys know what's meant by the quote (below) took from PIANOTEQ changelog?

Automatic migration of projects using an older major version of Pianoteq, when that version is not available. Most of them work very well. It seems that this version mainly features improvements to the internal model without much revoicing, which gives good compatibility to the custom presets created in the old version. The most obvious difference I can notice is that if the sustain of your preset is longer than the default (Impedance>1.00), it will be even longer in V9. Just turning it down a bit will fix the problem.

Thank you! After the update, will I be able to use both versions, or will the new one replace the old one?
