The RD88 does not have a class compliant usb audio interface. This was one of the reasons choose a Yamaha MX88 in stead of the RD88. A poor design decision if you ask me...

I think I may have figured it out.

Set Menu / System / General / USB driver = GENERIC.

However, when plugging into a Mac, you'll need to set it to VENDOR. Assuming you have all the drivers and stuff installed.

Inconvenient, but workable.

Edit: Hm, still can't detect the RD88 as an audio interface from my iPad, but at least I can get MIDI....

I have the RD88 (not the EX) and same issue ,,,darn! Works great with my Yamaha CK61 And Studio Logic 73 but I want the Roland to work!

I have two different USB C hubs, but no avail; unfortunately I don't have a USB-C -> USB-A cable to try a direct connection, but I've had no problems connecting my iPad to other keyboards I work with using this setup.
