i hadn't done one of these in a long time, so i thought i'd get back to it.  it's an interpretation? recasting? of a harmonized Bach chorale.  i know all the Bach scholars on here will probably find it heretical but i guess it's one way of many to appreciate a great composition i hope it's not too crazy.

I have always envied your ability to improvise Jazz... but here you have really outdone yourself, improvising on a Bach chorale is not an everyday thing!

Unfortunately I don't have the ability to play jazz, so I really admire pieces like this when I hear them.

thank you Triton for listening and your comments.  so far no Bach police have shown up   but there are definitely some people who think this kind of thing is too weird.  i enjoyed your take on Chick's tune and i hope you will record more.

Bravo budo! I love it.  Thank you. Now you can make a post here, with the name ”Jazz Chorales - Bach meet Jazz”. Collect those recordings you like best. You can be sure I would listen to them, one every day, over and over again,  (probably other members too). And in the future you can add more to the post.

I attach an other kind of variations on In dulci jubilo. I made the first one 1.2.  2020  (when I bought Organteq 1)  and here now with Organteq 2 sound.

It’s called Chorale prelude in my book. There’s a questionmark in the book from which I played this. Bach or not, maybe a pupil, J.L. Krebs? (was favourite pupil of the composer for 9 years). Maybe it sounds easy, but was not easy to play.
In dulci jubilo "In sweet rejoicing" is a traditional Christmas Carol. The original song text is thought to have been written circa 1328.

thank you Stig for your comments and for sharing your version.  it's funny but when i'm playing through those chorales i have no idea if they're totally obscure or totally famous.  i guess that's the benefit of being uneducated in this kind of music i'm really glad that you enjoyed it.  i will be sure to try more.
