encouraged by the appreciation and support received in the previous Handel video series, I present to you some other pieces I have recorded by this fantastic Baroque composer.
From Suite No. 2 of the Eight Great Suites printed in 1720.
Suite No. 2 in F major, HWV 427, contains none of the conventional
dance movements of the typical suite, being similar to an Italian
sonata in form, with a fast-slowfast-slow sequence of movements.
Though in F major, by tradition a pastoral key, the suite opens with a beautiful, highly embellished Adagio in the Italian operatic manner. I hope you enjoy it.Greetings from Italy

I am not a pianist but comparing to my own playing, this piece is a nice example of good technique placed in the service of musical expression, when I feel that you are not playing strictly as if following a metronome (as I do often, sorry) but you are ”little little stretching”, here and there, capable of being many places made little longer or wider… (well, as I feel, it’s a feeling). Had to listen again… Well done! And - the ending, the last 10 seconds have a little bit ritardando. Good.Glad you upload Bach and Händel so we can keep coming back and listen to wonderful music in ”carmelo-way”. It’s a priviledge for us all here in the forum. Thank you carmelo.

Thank you so much for your comment Stig! When I play I try to be quite rigorous especially with time I take few poetic licenses let's say... but sometimes you are really overwhelmed by the beauty of what you play and often it is not really possible to stay controlled....

many thanks for the beautiful recording of the Adagio by G. F. Handel. One might expect a recording with a harpsichord, but your interpretation with the piano is very well done.

Who knows, sooner or later I will play some baroque pieces on the harpsichord too... even if I don't think I have a good harpsichord technique, because I haven't studied it, so I remain in my comfort zone of playing these wonders on the piano.
