Hello all listeners!

Something unexpected happened especially on Youtube. I got 32 thumbs up within two days!! Has never happened before. What could be so special about this piece? It's just an old rag time that I experimented with. Bach music, which I personally love, gets very few thumbs. Comments are welcome.

All the best, everyone

Stig

My arrangement with Acoustic Guitar as soloist for my "brass band" trumpets and tuba, as well as Orgtq trumpet and vibraphone and liverpool bass and drums.

This piece was deleted by accident 6 months ago. Now updated and added more Orgtq 2 trumpet and vibraphone in my ”brassband”.
Swipesy, ragtime, Joplin info about the name Swipesy after the video.

https://youtu.be/iovcUAVR_l4

Here are two different versions of how the song got its name:
1)
A popular legend says that the title was suggested by John Stillwell Stark, one of Joplin's original publishers, when "Swipesy" was first being considered for publication. The photograph which was to appear on the cover of the new (and unnamed) composition featured a young Sedalia newsboy with a shy expression on his face. Stark allegedly remarked that the boy's countenance seemed to suggest that he had just "swiped" something from a cookie jar. "Lets call [the tune] 'Swipesy'," said Stark, and thus the title was decided.
2)
Marshall gave another explanation of the title's origin during a 1960 interview: he and Joplin had just delivered the music to Stark's office when two newspaper boys began quarreling outside, one swiped a newspaper from the other, and Stark, upon observing this, suggested that they name the work ”Swipesy” (Wikipedia)

All the best, everyone

Stig
