Thanks for not totally embarrassing me.

It was a revelation to me too!

As far as I can tell (I am currently using both version 8 and version 7) this feature has been added in version 8 since it does not work in my version 7. So for sure nobody knew before.

That said, in my opinion, the problem is that PianoTeq chose the beaten path of making the interface "pretty" as have many samplers, especially the Kontakt based ones. Admittedly, PianoTeq interface is pretty and decently usable, whereas many of those samplers are simply impossible to use (or at least they were when I tried them about 3 years ago on my MacBook). I would highly prefer to have something functional, i.e. with a normal interface with normal buttons, fully resizable, rather than the pretty graphics hiding functionalities behind images. For example it took me forever to "discover" the small L next to the volume meter, and even the switch between Chromatic/Diatonic (and now Guitar mode) on the left of the keyboard. I did not need the latter, so that was not a huge loss, but I did need the former, so that was.

So in conclusion, PianoTeq GUI is less cryptic and more useful than the competition, so that it good, but I think that cosmetics is taking the driver seats with ease of use being a (rear seat) passenger when I think it should be the other way around.

Just my $0.02
