Yes, all the historic grands are very upright compatible.

Historic grans tends to have very short sustain compared to modern grands which resembles a modern upright quite well, and they also tend to have lots of character.

I use a morph between the free historic Erard, Stainway D NY, and the U4. Then I lower the impedence and string length a bit to roughly match an upright. I think it sounds marvelous. I also Humanize most parameters in the model. In particular the unison with seems to add a bunch of character. 

I also just tried a morph between Erard and Steinway D NY with the above adjustments, and it works very well, but the above piano is my favourite. Im guessing you dont own the u4 though.

Oh, that's a great idea to use morphing between the pianos, I'll definitely try it out. And yes, I don't own the U4 unfortunately.
