]]>I am playing the main theme and the first five variations from "Twinkle twinkle" (Ah vous dirai-je maman) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, K 265 C major.
Here, I am using various piano sounds from pianoteq 8 and an organ sound from organteq for the main theme and the first variation.
I was preparing for a movie theme concert when I came across this contest and thought I could post something here.
I almost exclusively use Pianoteq for that and find it such a playable and nuanced instrument. With a good controller you have absolute command over the quietest pianissimos and the richest fortissimos, it just blows my mind.
So here is my take, it is still a work in progress, I hope you can forgive my occasional clumsiness.

Still haven't practised this piece enough to be able to play it from memory, but that's what videos are for, right? It uses a lot of MIDI processing, which is something I'm quite interested in. ]]>Here is a piece of mine using Piano Teq in a live performance.
This is a piece from my concert last month, a concert for a string quartet, real-time electroacoustic processing, electronics, and piano.
The piece is one movement from a suite of my compositions called ‘text’.
The Piano Teq is entirely constable, which is a particularly nice feature.
It is flexible enough for classical and contemporary recordings.
In this piece, I set up a five-mic simulation with as little reverberation as possible so that the rich sound remains. Still, you can apply your favourite reverb of the same quality as the reverberation of the live strings or deliberately for a different purpose. Fine-tuning is also supported, so baroque and microtonal approaches can be implemented.
By changing these parameters in real-time, it is very imaginative to incorporate unique sounds that are and are not piano into your concerts.

Pianoteq 8 kinda blew me away... To be able to feel truly *inspired* by the tone and feel of virtual instrument is the challenge, and this one does it effortlessly. Awesome.
As always I love seeing all the wonderfully creative performances posted here! For this performance I used one of the Steinways and altered the velocity curve a bit. I tried to demonstrate both softness, power and responsiveness of the instrument. Apologies for any clipping in the audio...

Totally agree about the joy of the creativity of these performances! Yeah, its my sense that version 8.2 and above, there is a new level of clarity and manipulability especially for the Model Ds as well as the Bluthner and other big grands.

Here is my contribution. I wanted to explore the potential of Pianoteq's Period instruments. I used the Walter 1790 Fortepiano (KIViR) together with Beethoven's lovely Sonata Op.49 no.2, in G major (1st mov).

I'm back at piano after being away from it for more than 4 years. This is a short medley of some compositions.
I could have done longer and wanted to, but due to time constraints and other obligations, this is a short and sweet entry.
Started practicing again 4 months ago. I know more stuff than this, but I thought why not do something quick, short and to the point under 2 minutes.

I have an Aster on my back porch that, in the early days of fall this year, kept blooming when the wild flowers nearby had gone brown. Because of this, it became an oasis to pollinating bees and wasps in fairly large numbers. I was afraid to share the porch with them at first, but they were peaceful, and kept coming back every day, for like 2 whole weeks-- and they never flew inside our home! I was delighted to marvel at the beauty (and possible danger) -- and was inspired to write this song.
About the video: it's a looped video of me petting my dog in slow motion.
