Thanks. That wasn't a problem (this time). I finally decided to delete the app and reinstall it, and at least for now that seems to have helped. No idea why...

For what it's worth, I have seen behavior once, when playing my iPhone 12 with pianoteq (on a live gig). In my case, the iPhone was overheating (sun was shining on it). The iPhone showed messages about overheating. Probably not your issue, but just mentioning it, in case maybe you have the phone in your pocket or something where it gets hot.
