Both have the same connectivity options in the back panel ( mid and L/R) for traditional piano pedals and their FLK triple pedal and 2 aux pedals ( RTS and TRS) reserved for expression pedals . All entries support continuous midi data (0,127)

So to conclude a long and boring discussion , Vidal has 2 pedal entries sustain (on off) and exp ( continous) . I’m pretty sure the support will receive calls as not intuitive and against terminology used in digital puano . Have a good day .

I would rather prefer to be able to connect 3 DP-10 than 1 Fatar triple pedal .
Moreover , your post is intriguing as it kind of says that the sustain jack is not continuous , only the expression jack is ????? Did I read that right ? Are you saying that a 5000$ piano midi controller is designed with an off / off only sustain ? I sincerely hope you made an error in your reply , as otherwise that would be a deal breaker . A good pedal device for piano must offer continuous data for sustain and soft pedals and on/off for sustenato . ( sustain continuous to allows half pedalling and soft continuous to allow variation of timbre for VST’s that allow it such as Pianoteq)

EDIT : Reading your reply again , maybe you meant connect the center and left pedal to the Expression Jack and the right pedal to the Sustain jack. In which case you support continuous for sustain , but only on/off for Una Corda pedal.

This is not quite correct....An "Expression" jack is for the continuous input (right sustain) pedal. The other jack is for on/off inputs from the other pedals. This jack is often labelled "Sustain" because synthesizers and some MIDI controllers only accept a momentary on/off switch for sustaining notes. To control Pianoteq and other piano software that supports partial (continuous) pedaling, the Expression input jack is used, because the right pedal includes a potentiometer that can continuously vary the signal passing through. As Gaston clarified, there is variation in how particular triple pedals and MIDI keyboard controllers are configured with cables, but it should be possible to find a compatible combination for the Vidal. The Vidal makers will certainly specify some options for this.

I am afraid this is an unconventional terminology as you can see from the 3 examples below :

****** MP11 Stage Piano *************

This is an extract from the Kawai MP11 manual regarding back panel connectors

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EXP jack
This jack is used to connect an expression pedal.
* For information about calibrating the expression pedal to ensure correct operation with the MP11, please refer to page 101.

SOFT jack
This jack is used to connect the soft pedal of the included F-30 triple pedal unit to the MP11.
