I'm not really familiar with the artist, however I think I might have seen him briefly recently on NHK - that's not a channel I normally watch to put it mildly, so I guess he's pretty famous over there.

Found his Wikipedia page:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiroyuki_Sawano

Firstly I will suggest nine tenths tends to be in the performance but that one tenth may be somewhat difficult to attain.

Find out about his piano, find out about his recording process- microphone positioning, EQ and reverb if possible.

You could have a go with an EQ analyzer once you finished mixing your rendition to try to match his. Seeing as these are solo piano recordings it could be more helpful than it typically is with multiple instruments.

Personally I think you would be better off trying to equal his playing performance, or play the best you can and make your own spin on it - choosing the reverb and EQ settings that please you most with the Pianoteq models you have available, rather than crippling the sound trying to shoehorn precisely into the same sound.

Obviously having Standard or Pro would give you a world of extra adjustments to the piano models themselves, and fine adjustment of the virtual microphones.

A great deal can be achieved with subtle adjustments of the EQs.

I found this other forum thread you might find interesting?:
https://vi-control.net/community/thread...no.100899/

Good luck.

I'm a huge fan of his recordings https://youtu.be/HHsXk4Q1PMA and https://youtu.be/VD-FYHdgI_8 - being my 2 favorites. I played them for many years myself. Do you have any ideas, how I could recreate such sound? Also the secondary sounds of mechanics of the piano and the way I guess the mics are positioned.
