I want to mention that I first checked with the wonderful support @ Modartt before doing this.

Under Options in Pianoteq, in the General tab, there is a dropdown under Folders. One of the options is "(HOME) Documents/Pianoteq". On MacOS there is an option to using iCloud to keep your Documents and Desktop in sync across devices.

Under my /Users/Stephen/Documents/ there is now an Pianoteq folder. In there 3 folders now: Addons, Archive, and Presets. As long as you have the iCloud sync for Documents and Desktop turned on, and Pianoteq set to use that directory, those items just sync. If I create a new preset, it becomes available on my two Macs. The midi archives sync too.

The only thing I think we need to be careful about, editing the same exact user preset on two devices at the same time. I think Pianoteq will backup the changes, but still be careful.

Could you explain in a bit more detail, however: what do you mean by "...careful not to edit the same preset at the same time"?
And "...selected the Documents location under settings in Pianoteq" ...location for what exactly, and in which settings tab?
Thanks

stephenll wrote:

For those reading that use Macs, I’ve been synchronizing using Documents under iCloud between 2 Macs and that’s worked perfect. Of course you need to be careful not to edit the same preset at the same time.

Would it be possible to design a system that would allow you to retrieve your presets regardless of the PC or the session on which you use Pianoteq?
I use Pianoteq on Linux (for its stability) but also on Windows when I want to play with other plugins.
Would it be possible (via the license registered in my name) for my user presets to be synchronized across different sessions?

Cheers,
SK
