I&#039;ve never played a Hammond Drawbar organ, but I have played a classical pipe organ, a theatre organ and have owned several spinet organs. My current spinet is the Yamaha EL-900. It too has a volume pedal and I use it to control expression. Distortion is an effect that&#039;s available on the &#039;organ&#039; and it can be set to alter the sound of the digital &#039;drawbars&#039; along with any of the orchestral sounds.</p><p>Like I said it wasn&#039;t an effect that particularly grabbed me - but it&#039;s growing on me...</p>]]></content>
